This isn't my first Alpha so I knew what to expect. It has really good sensitivity, especially with the included high gain antenna. As many people know, Alfa has different chipset options and is based on the older Atheros chipset. Atheros has been pretty reliable for me in the past. The only problem you might encounter is driver support. Atheros doesn't seem interested in releasing new drivers for this old chipset, so you can run the Windows 7 driver in compatibility mode on Windows 10 as a workaround. Works fine with Linux drivers. Since I mostly use this with Linux in a virtual machine, I just disable the Windows driver completely and connect directly to the Linux OS.
