Easy Install. Works well on the stern of my boat so far. When used with an Attwood lamp post you get a nice bright white light. I used to have an old style lantern where you had to unscrew the outer ring to release the pole so you could lower it into the boat when not in use. The problem is that the top of the canopy is still sticking out of the side of the boat so whenever I covered the boat it always got in the way. Usually every spring when I was preparing the boat I needed a new headlight and sometimes a new lightbulb. Kind of a pain as I actually even use headlights on my boat. So I really like the idea of removing the light from the base. I only use my boat in fresh water and put some Di-Electric grease on the connection points so hopefully I don't have corrosion issues like some people who use these types of lights in salt water.
