Based on label analysis it has slightly more protein than Iams kitten food and I think it's because it has more meat. My kitty likes yams a little more, probably due to the higher fat content which makes them tastier. I give her half (which they don't recommend) because they want you to buy their product so she gets the best of both worlds. She has no diarrhea and her stools are as hard as they can get, so she's perfectly healthy. Fashion brands because they are all advertised at a high premium.
