The product description does not state that this iron has only one temperature setting, a crackling 415F. It has 3/4" wide plates, a very good size. It heats up quickly and the cord is good. There are thumb guides on the handles and they make it difficult to set the iron on the counter without the plates loose touch the counter. I mean, the damn thing tips over. You'll have to keep an eye on it if you don't want to spoil your vanity or worse. Overall quality is excellent. It's easy to use. Plates make correct contact. You can der Get very close to scalp. heats only to 415F, I would only recommend it to those with very thick, strong hair. It's too hot for thin or damaged hair, period. I will only use this when I'm in a real hurry. iron up to 300F and it works great for me.
