In the early 80's we had a water tank in the fridge for the night before heading out for the day. The water stayed cool in this remote rear area through midday. You might even come back and update the review next summer. The bite valve is fine. There are better ones. The pull lock type isn't what I need, I have more of a rotary on/off valve. However, the post in the valve is quite large. The angle adds a comfort I didn't know I was missing from Camelbak's straight valving. However, it has never leaked in ziplining, quad biking, van/bus driving, boating, etc. etc. So this is proof that everything is fine. There was a small sealing problem the first day you added water, but I think I just didn't have a direct connection and it couldn't be tightened properly. I also may not have noticed any clogging in layers of material where it failed to seal. This was the first flush/use in a controlled environment (kitchen) and I've never had a problem after dealing with this particular sealer. There were no leaks and we used it to the maximum. Let's get to the hose connection. Dude, I wasn't sure. Inexpensive hydration bladder and can the hydration bladder tube be removed? $#@^ yes. It works. While in our cabin I filled my bladder, squeezed the quick release to remove the hose so I could ONLY put my bladder in the fridge. Quite acceptable, a few drops went with the bladder. The hose (which is full of liquid of course, I was prepared for this and simply sucked the open end out while holding the bite valve open) is detached, threaded through the bag and attached to the shoulder strap. A full bladder went into the fridge overnight. When I put the bladder back in my pocket the next day, the tube locked in very well and wasn't leaking. Contents: We packed a change of active wear for two adults (swim suits, armor items) with room for sunglass cases, bug spray, sunscreen, there was room for some small souvenirs and once you drink from your bladder you will also have room for little ones soft objects. waist belt area. Holy $#!*, that was more helpful than I expected. We will 100% use this campsite next year for short hikes or even day trips to school activities.
