I bought this for my German Shepherd. Rottweiler mix. I thought that a big, mean dog should have a big, mean collar. I wasn't disappointed. It is about two inches wide and covered with spines about a quarter of an inch. This thing is strong - other dogs won't be able to chew this thing off its neck. I am planning to get one of the white ones for my other dog. The only bad thing I can tell people is that when your dog is also an inside dog and very friendly, it is very painful to have your dog hold your leg. The spikes are sewn into the skin so they cannot fall out. It comes in multiple colors but I thought black would look best on my dog. In hindsight I should have picked a lighter color so you can see it. The black color blends too much with his fur. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend one of these to anyone who has a large breed dog. This will probably be the last collar you have to buy.
