The lighting duration is impressive. Not sure if credit should be given to the design of the ball or the small battery inside. Each ball has a label. Pull it out and it will glow. If it doesn't, you may need to wiggle it. If you want them to last longer you can paste the label again. I would be comfortable in 24 hours and not have to worry about turning off the light. The plan was to use internal balloons but I forgot about them until I finished my project. The couple I tried the kids loved the light and the fun sound when it bounced around. When the balloons burst, the balloons disappeared until nightfall. I managed to pick her up from the yard. I left the test sample on my desk for over a month and it's still glowing, but obviously very dim. They are very small and it is definitely not recommended to leave them around toddlers who like to put things in their mouths. 48 left - will update when I use them again with more photos.
