We spent sixteen dollars on this in November 2018. It worked great right out of the box and I would probably give it a 5 star rating this summer. Yes, it's cheap plastic, but it feels better in the hand than Apple's tiny metal. This seems significant. Although it's plastic and feels cheap, it's a good weight. It's curved at the back and big enough not to get lost and small enough not to take up much space. However, it is now October 2019 and it is not working. According to the guys, he stopped working in September. After troubleshooting, we found that the IR sensor had died. So this is a great remote for the year. But not worth it for the price. Just buy another Apple remote and save yourself the headache.
