I am a licensed hair stylist and am very knowledgeable about heat damage, particularly the highlights that all my three teenage daughters have. I was skeptical but since they all want to curl their hair EVERY DAY it was worth a try. It works best on thick hair when it's almost completely dry and barely damp - with a light spray. Fine hair can be a little wetter. Slightly twisting the hair as you wrap it will give the effect of a corkscrew. Winding it up evenly, with a gap between the hairs, will give you a free beachy wave. It's nice to have variety. We've found that curls hold up better throughout the day (as well as through dance routines and sweaty walks home) than with a flat iron. This is not only a lifesaver for a busy morning before school, but also for long-term hair integrity. It's comfortable enough to sleep in and even my 11 year old can lay it down by himself. Simple, simple, great. I order another.
