I used these with Monster Cable 12 ga speaker cable. If you have a couple of bench vises and a small flat head screwdriver you should be fine. I pulled the wire out of the insulation about an inch and used a vise to hold the wire while I inserted it into the connector. Be sure to loosen the terminal screws until the male thread no longer appears in the connector.2. Rotate the connector in the same direction as the speaker wire, and fully insert the speaker wire into the connector.3. First, tighten the terminal screw closest to the connector, making sure the cable is held securely in the connector.4. Tighten the second terminal screw, then for a monster cable with fairly slippery insulation, remove the clamps and allow the insulation to expand and compress against the connector. The plugs are much stronger than any other "banana plugs". used, which ensures a good connection to the amplifier and/or speakers.
