Pros: The wood is relatively pleasant, with a pleasant finish. The shelf holds many different sized bottles, although other reviewers suggest otherwise. Cons: Holes were cut in some of the end pieces to fit the adjacent piece. On the smaller ones I used a file to drive the wood to the appropriate depth. Others I used a hammer to put the pieces together. Some modification was required for 3 of the 4 side joints I used. I love this wine rack, it suits my needs. I couldn't have put it together without a file and hammer.
