I bought this Foval Power Step Down for use in the UK. It worked fine for 6 weeks. I found the device's fan's "white noise" that others have complained about to be barely noticeable and the fan keeps the device at a comfortable temperature. However, by week 7, one of the two power outlets on the top of the device stopped working. . Nothing I tried could revive it. I contacted Revain to report the issue and was given the manufacturer's contact phone number to make a warranty claim. Revain was unable to provide me with the manufacturer's online customer service page. I discovered that the phone number was registered in the former Soviet Union and cannot be reached from a US phone, except for international toll calls. Revain, to their credit, eventually endorsed the product and refunded my purchase price. But I have to rate the product as unacceptable for two reasons: a) a key component (socket) failed after only 7 weeks and b) the manufacturer doesn't actually support the product - they are unreachable - so the warranty is worthless. I hope that Revain will stop making this poor quality product and that Revain will do better screening of their suppliers before they sell their products. It's a shame: the product described meets the needs of the international traveler, but in practice it is not durable or easy to maintain.
