Review on Grey Hazel Beoplay H8 Wireless On-Ear Headphone with Active Noise Cancelling from Bang & Olufsen by Ada Dudek

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product for me, I was satisfied with the price.

Headphones have a fairly elastic darling, thanks to which they fit snugly to the ears. From this, sound insulation without any noise reduction is good. From this, despite the soft skin and ear cushions, it is somewhat uncomfortable to be in them for many hours. Noise canceling works almost imperceptibly, in general there is little sense from it. The extremely strange software from b&g for android has a bunch of meaningless menu items (for example, choosing the color of your headphones :), and when you click "Support" or "Instructions" in the menu in 2022 (!) It opens some left pages in English in the browser site, and some of which stupidly do not work. I read freely, but in general, such an attitude towards the client is clearly not for the premium class. However, there is absolutely nothing useful there, so there is no point in translating. Touch control for an amateur, but you can get used to it. It works with a noticeable delay and you need to accurately hit the right zones with your finger ;). And if you accidentally hit it, you will delight your friends every time with repetitions of your calls :) Until I bought these headphones, I didn’t really need to use the equalizer in my smartphone. AIMP, of course, is great and saves the situation, but it's terribly inconvenient to switch presets every time you select a different playback device. The summary is this - they are for users who love the look and comfort, so that they peck deeply and juicy, and so that they don’t take a steam bath. I would advise advanced music lovers to look for something else or to put up with the need to adjust the frequency response by third-party means.

Pros
  • Design, quality of materials, sound insulation, wearing comfort. Clear deep sound, low distortion.
Cons
  • 1. Frequency response. The lows are inadequately raised and the middle is crushed, which is why only those who love swotting can use them as is. It is unrealistic to listen to high-quality music without an equalizer on them. But if this is corrected, then the sound itself is very decent. Moreover, this is a characteristic of the speakers themselves, because. over the wire they sound exactly the same. 2. Native "equalizer". In general, the user is a moron by definition, so why does he need normal settings? Let him point his finger at presets like "warm", "bright", etc. And to make at least 6-7 ordinary bands (to fix what they themselves piled up) - this, apparently, according to the developers, is prohibitive for "elite" consumers. 3. New headphones with a new battery - are cut down when the indicator is still 20 percent. Everything would be fine, but in order to charge them after that, you must first remove and insert the battery back, otherwise they do not react to the charging connection. It's hard to call it a feature, more like a bug :)
