excellent 50 year old valve repair
The old rubber insert hardened to the point where the flow was the only flow. The new one leaked GREAT, BUT the new cam was too small and effectively shut off the water flow (about .020" less than the original, poor casting quality control, yes indeed). I used the original cam with a new rubber insert. , housing and seal The flow is much better and can be blocked.
