Review on πŸ“š Modrine 5 Shelf Bookcase: Industrial Style Tall Bookshelf for Vintage Standing Storage and Display by Nadia Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's quite a large bookshelf at the moment.

It's been almost a month. It took a little time and effort to set up: about an hour, maybe more, alone. It wasn't difficult though: the instructions are pretty clear and the kit comes with all the tools except for a screwdriver. The wooden shelves themselves are surprisingly strong. You can tap them with your knuckles and hear that they're naturally dense, and if you hold one of them in your hands you'll feel the weight (they're all a healthy weight in a competition setup). They are also nicely coated and laminated for extra protection (see attached images). The metal frame is also relatively strong and is held together with screws that fit nicely into the plastic holes set in the wood (again, see photos). Once assembled they hold the weight of the books quite well; A LITTLE slack on the shelf with my paperback comics, but it's a huge improvement over any cheap bare wood, cardboard backed bookshelf (like my previous one which broke in a recent move). This shelf is made of real WOOD shelves and a METAL frame. All in all, I would recommend them for their price and build quality. It is quite strong and durable, and it can clearly bear the weight. One more thing to note: I was surprised to find that most of the reviews photos don't show people actually using this to demonstrate shelf strength for BOOKS in particular. So here's an attached photo of the hardcover, paperback, COMICS paperbacks (which can be pretty heavy), magazines, tools, and a printer. If you are looking for a solid 5 tier bookshelf then I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.
