I have used Alexa devices and accessories throughout my home and installed systems for the family so I am very familiar with the operation and installation of these items. I had Alexa Auto in my car for over a year and really liked it. When I found this mount I was thrilled that I would have a Qi compatible mount and be able to reduce the number of cables on my dash. Installation was pretty easy. There was an application that updated the firmware and it worked fine, but then everything went wrong. This mount is advertised as "built-in Alexa," but that's not entirely true. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth and launches the Alexa app on the phone. Closing the Alexa app disables it. Alexa Auto, on the other hand, connects manually via Bluetooth and doesn't require an Alexa app. a few more seconds for the application to accept the command and a few more seconds for it to execute. This is clumsy at best. The device status indicator is BEHIND the phone so you don't know if the command was recognized. If you lift the phone high enough to see the light, the phone will not charge. On the base of the mount are two buttons for mute and commands... on the back of the device! Again on the back of the bracket. They are not visible and therefore very difficult to reach. When you press the mute button, the light ring turns red... but you can't see it because it's blocked by your phone! So you can't reach the buttons and you can't see the light. Pooh! I once learned to recognize the word revival during an hour-long drive. Just once before I gave up. People must have thought I was arguing with my wife or kid and kept yelling at Alexa. In the settings menu of all Alexa, you can set a beep at the beginning of a command and a beep to let you know when it's finished. I set this animal up like this and when you say the wake word it rings but doesn't receive the command. It will then beep when it's over. It was so difficult to use I thought I had a bad unit so I asked Revain to replace it and send another. Same results, so this is returned. If the Alexa part worked better, this would be a great mount. Looks good and charges well. If it was in the $20-$30 range I might just keep it for assembly. But for the price I just can't do it.
