This mount was so easy to install that it doesn't even need to be explained. I would definitely suggest attaching the magnet to your phone case, not your phone. Personally, I didn't have the same experience as some of the other reviewers who had issues with 3M tape and the mount not sticking. I think it mainly has to do with the space/angle of the dashboard you have in your car. It was stuck on my 2005 Corolla S and hasn't moved since. Since installing it, navigation has become much more convenient and safer than having my phone on my lap and it occasionally falling under or next to my seat. The phone sticks well to the dash mount (I have a very thin case which helps) and I never have to worry about the phone falling. As long as your dashboard has a flat surface about an inch square with no sharp corners, it should hold up fine.
