It works great on a 2021 Mazda CX5 but it took me 2 hours to figure it out. First, don't read the instructions. They claim that you plug it in and then connect it to Bluetooth and you're done. But that's not it at all. It doesn't even transmit a Bluetooth signal until you update the firmware on the box. So, here's what you need to do: Plug it into your car's USB port that you use with wired CarPlay. Wait about 30 seconds and then connect to a Wi-Fi broadcast on your phone labeled "VOLKSWAGN" or something very similar. I don't know why it's called that, but it connects you to your carlinkit. The password to join is 12345678. Once connected, navigate to the IP address 192.168.50.2, which will take you to the configuration page of your Carlinkit. This page will say that your Carlinkit is up to date, but it isn't. Click on the "Check for updates" button and you will see that a newer version is available. Install the update and wait for the page to inform you that the update is complete. At this point, you may lose the WiFi connection "VOLKSWAGN" because the update has reset the WiFi broadcast name from "VOLKSWAGN" to "Autobox" or something similar. After reconnecting to the new "Auto Box” WiFi signal, navigate again to the IP address 192.168.50.2. Again, it will tell you that your carlinkit is up to date, but probably not. Click the "Check for Updates" button and you will see that a newer version is available AGAIN. Install the update and wait for the page to inform you that the update is complete. Repeat the refresh, refresh page, refresh, refresh page cycle until you see there are no more updates when you click Check for Updates. When you get to this point you should be ready to rock. If you plug Carlinkit into your car's USB port that you use for CarPlay, you'll see another screen that gives you instructions on how to connect your iPhone. Now Carlinkit is finally sending out a Bluetooth signal for you to pair with. Go ahead and pair it and your phone will ask you to confirm if you want to pair it. For some reason, after pairing via Bluetooth, the WiFi connection disconnects and continues to be used. That's all! You are ready. The next time you start your car, your iPhone will reconnect automatically. I give this thing 4/5 stars. It would be 5 stars if it came with good instructions. But otherwise it works great!
