Works great for keeping moisture and odors under control in this old house.

It's been one of those hot and muggy years and I'm trying to keep excess humidity under control. This old house needs to keep the humidity under control. I am very active and constantly monitor the humidity in my home. This home is compliant in all the important areas and I'm doing my best to add humidity control to the list. I'm hesitant to plug in my large dehumidifiers as I try not to use too much electricity. It's not a very expensive endeavor to control the humidity in my home. In winter I add moisture and in summer I remove it. I will use Venta in winter to hydrate, but in spring and summer when humidity levels rise I will need to remove it. One thing I don't like is mold, which I don't have and don't want. Another problem is that I have a couple of smelly dogs. These bamboo charcoal bags allow me to kill two birds with one stone as they are great for odor control and elimination. I use small inexpensive moisture and odor removers that come in a plastic container. However, they contain calcium chloride dihydrate. I can and will recycle them, but most of them probably end up in landfills. A friend suggested charcoal packs and I've been using them for a few years now. These burlap air purifier bags are non-toxic and work quite well. They work well in my home because I have pets and I can easily place them in a variety of places. I put them on where I need moisture and/or odor protection. I still have a few hooks from the ones I bought earlier, but they have hemp cord for hanging. I hang them in closets, next to bookshelves, in the basement, and other places where I want to control moisture and/or odors. They're definitely reusable, so don't be quick to throw them away. Just lay them in the sun for about an hour, turning them occasionally. I love the burlap like material and the fact that I can hang them up. I value functionality and environmental friendliness. I will probably buy more of these as I want to cover all my bases so to speak. Another useful application is moisture protection in the place where my canned food is stored that all survivalists should be aware of.
