I wanted to try this product because to my knowledge I have never used laundry soap...only laundry detergent. It seems a bit pricey but after reading the reviews I was intrigued. To be honest, I was expecting a disappointment. I have both Acadian Forest and Unscented. I have used unscented powder on many colored garments (mixed fabrics). Firstly, the powder itself has practically no smell, and there was no smell at all on the washed linen (neither wet nor after drying). If you have used washing powder before you will find that this powder is much finer than these detergents... it really is a powder and it dissolves quickly. What struck me when using this product was how incredibly soft the clothes became...without the use of fabric softener or dryer sheets. Clothes have become much softer. [Note: I first used Acadian Forest powder to make two batches of clothing - one batch was white (and I added bleach) and the other was dyed. Although Acadian Forest powder has an odor, it is very faint. There's nothing wrong with the smell...it's just faint and imperceptible. I didn't care, but I was a little surprised and a little disappointed]. The clothes were very clean and had no odor to me...just a clean cloth. I washed the second batch in the Acadian Forest Powder and again the laundry was noticeably softer than usual - wonderful. I didn't notice any difference in washed/dried smell between Acadian Forest and Unscented. overalls. I am simply amazed at the performance of this product. I can throw out dryer sheets and fabric softener and still get softer clothes. The cleaning power seems excellent and I'll try to use a little less (I used a tablespoon in each of the loads) to see how little I can avoid. Since our clothes are not usually stained, I have high hopes for them. This is a really great product and especially if you or a family member have skin sensitivities this will make you really happy. Simply a fantastic natural product that actually works even better than advertised. I hope this is useful information for you!
