The edges are not very sharp. I couldn't get the stamp to look very good no matter what ink I used. If you're not too picky and just want something with numbers and dates, it's cheap and probably fine. But it's pretty cheap and they're not super good. I have many other brands of this clear type that are much better and leave a nice crisp edge even with inexpensive ink pads. They're cheap enough that I won't be returning them, and I can use them here and there, but I probably won't use them at all. Because of the need to set dates and everything else in the block, I prefer to use something that feels clean.
