I have another eyeshadow box that was advertised as 2" deep and is the same size. It's just under 3 inches if you measure it from the outside. The actual interior gives you about 2 inches of depth to use, less if you don't want your items to be outside of the actual box. He has magnets, but they're small and painted over, easy to miss, and very weak. The door opens too easily. All in all, if that's what you're after, you can make it work as long as your items aren't too big. I also like to make sure they are secure and don't fall out easily. Won't work for me.
