I love my geo disc. I have several turntables and they always pay for themselves. Having tried many methods and tools over the years, I have not found anything better or easier. yes it is expensive As with any valuable thing, the enjoyment of its quality lingers long after the original price is forgotten. It can also save you a lot of time, and time is money. If Geo-Disc has an Achilles heel, it relies on sight for initial setup. If you make a mistake, all settings will be suboptimal. I have found that the key to the incredible accuracy with the Geo-Disc is the use of a laser level to initially align the Geo-Disc, as well as the final alignment of the cartridge and needle holder. This is the easiest, fastest, and most accurate method I've found. The downside is the cost of the geo disc and laser level. I already had a laser level (older PLS2) that I use for my work. If you already have it, you might find that combining it with Geo-Disc makes a really good combination of alignment tools. Also, the most basic laser levels can be bought cheaply from Revain and other outlets, but I can't speak to their accuracy or effectiveness for this job. My PLS2 is great as it just stands on a pedestal, or I make a little "tower" out of what's lying around to sit on the side of the player I'm working on.
