This is a good eyelash curler, but not perfect. Mine came with a slight manufacturing defect - the top and bottom don't fit perfectly on one side so are a bit uneven. The extra thick pad helps fill the small gap so I get a nice curl. This extra thick pad actually creates a nice, more natural curl - the lashes don't stick out oddly like some curlers do. I have very straight lashes, a good length and large almond shaped eyes. It's hard to find curling irons that work well and believe me I've tried MANY. I usually heat my curling iron with a blow dryer, to heat it up the only way the curl stays on my lashes. Make sure you feel the heat of the curler before applying it to your lashes - you can burn the delicate skin around your eyes.
