Original cable snapped after two seasons. This replacement arrived but without instructions. This way you don't have to do it yourself: 1) Remove the plastic covers covering the straps with a 3/8 inch socket wrench. 2) Disconnect the cable spring hook from the pulley bracket. 3) Remove the wire clamp from the deck. Hold the power button by the handle 5) Rotate the old bracket up and then away from the handle 6) Knock off the old acorn nut, remove the old cable 7) Install the new cable - thread through the power button bracket, secure the end with the swivel nut and reattach the power bracket 8 ) Route the cable and reattach the hook to the pulley bracket 9) Pull the cable to remove any slack and clamp the cable 10) Bring Replace the cover with the cable routed under the small notch. You can chop the mower while waiting for a replacement if you are creative and can pinch the cord with the pulley tightened.
