I would like to see more details on the sizes and dimensions of these covers from sellers. The basic measurements given may not be enough to tell you how the slipcover will fit, even if you measure your chair in detail, and it's almost never explained exactly how the straps are supposed to hold it in place. My chair has a more ergonomic shape than just a big box. The biggest issue is that part of the back is no wider than the seat and probably not the width the straps are designed for, so the elastic by itself didn't do anything. There are no pictures or an accurate description of the chewing gum. Based on the photos it looked like a single strip that went around the back and I figured I could just adjust it, but instead there are 2 non-adjustable pieces on the sides that I'm not entirely sure how should fit a squarer chair. . I have them hanging freely on the sides and nothing to catch. I tied them together so they are now tight enough around the back to do something. This is closer to how I thought they would work. Although my chair seat is over an inch narrower than the seat cover sizing, there are gaps in the corners behind the armrest until I straighten them. There's nothing to hold the seat or armrests in place, allowing it to move anywhere. I've stopped putting anything heavy in my pockets or else it will pull everything to one side and create big gaps in the corners. I think I still have to make further modifications so that the armrests and therefore the seat do not slide sideways. The bottom of the seat is quite short compared to many others. There is a bit of it in the photo, but it was hard to measure exactly where it ends. This suitcase has some of the shorter armrests I've seen to allow my cup holder to stay open, but it also has a shorter seat than probably even a regular chair or sofa. I thought it would go all the way to the edge, but when aligning the seams, it turned out that when it was pushed all the way back, the front of the seat cover came out a few inches from the end. The problem seems to be that the further you recline the chair, the further the fabric slides back, so the cover only fits the advertised seat measurements when the chair is fully upright. I keep mine folded back a little all the time to keep the extra clearance constant. Since my chair is leather it means the backs of my knees can stick to it even with the footrest down. This also means that with any fabric, the edge is not protected and it is often the edge that is subjected to the most wear and tear. Especially when pets climb on it.
