I don't quite understand how this little pump works but it works. My ice maker in the fridge didn't have enough pressure. The line runs from the sink under the house back to the fridge. The ice machine had a tendency to make very small ice cubes at a very slow speed. Also, the water dispenser had a tendency to leak because the pressure wasn't enough to fully close the valve. Once this is installed, both the ice maker and water dispenser work great. There is also more water in the tank. Installation was easy too. All I needed was a pair of scissors and a screwdriver to install the sink bracket. I noticed that some people complained about the sound. I added some rubber foam to the mounting bracket and didn't tighten it all the way. I don't think I ever noticed the sound, even standing next to the sink. Just as important, my better half didn't notice either.
