For the most part this does what it advertises. We had two instances where the electric shock worked while the dogs were at the range. This scared them so much that they were afraid of the collars. I have since removed the pens and only use the beep and vibrate modes. Battery life is ok but I charge every night. It's still better than digging a fence in the ground, but I'm tired of them walking unnecessarily again.
