If they were about 1/2 inch longer they would be perfect. I bought these to use in first aid kits for shipping overseas but kept one for myself. to attempt. They're ok but could be a lot easier to use. They were sharp enough to trim my nails well, but they were very stiff and I had a hard time getting enough leverage to trim them easily. On the other hand, they seem heavy, but not long enough. The lack of leverage for easy cutting was a disappointment to me. I think it might be difficult for children and the elderly to use them, while the more expensive (and slightly longer) ones I have at home are very easy to use.
