Throttle response and even idle in the rear

Expectations and Results: When I bought this K&N I knew my stock air filter was clogged. (It was a cheap paper filter) I wanted a K&N filter but realized I should just get a CAI because I wanted the engine to run better. The tone of the exhaust became deeper. I wouldn't say it's much louder, but it's smoother and gives a smoother rear-end tone. Idling is better although I know I need to change the spark plugs. There's also a nice intake noise the CAI makes when you accelerate and rev to idle. The CAI came with a great dry compressor to protect it from water and mud damage. (Of course that doesn't bother you). Easy transition from long to short butt: Another amazing thing is how easy it can be to hide it from long to short butt. The long piston allows the CAI to draw in colder air, but also brings it very close to the ground where water and dirt can get in. So if it rains you can easily open the yokes and pull the excess down by removing the air filter from that end and inserting it into the motor, which you can leave a dry charger on when you set it up (recommended). You can take it off though, there really isn't much moisture in the engine bay and if there is then your filter is the last thing to worry about.
