I bought this easel because it was a floor standing easel with a drawer on top. This easel comes fully assembled - straight out of the box, no instructions. It's well made and looks good BUT you can't instantly open and lock it to use as a stand alone unit. It literally took me 1 hour to figure out how to set up this easel. NO INSTRUCTIONS - I had no choice but to start taking it apart, screw by screw. I noticed when loosening the screws - flexibility appeared, you can move the legs and adjust the height. From the side of the device it turned out that the leg was broken when it moved from its place, but apparently this is normal. You will need to lay this unit on its side and completely loosen/remove the pivot screw to allow the legs to slide into position for floor mounting. You will need to tighten the screws for the legs to snap into place. Overall the easel is nice but without instructions I almost gave up and sent it back. SEE PHOTOS. You'll see the area where the leg slides into position, then tighten the screw back up. it is hard to explain. but it's definitely worth a look!
