The white cable is the one that comes with the fan, the black is the regular Android mini USB-B cable. The metal part of the cable is twice as long, so a normal cable can't be connected because it doesn't reach far enough. That's a good fan. I really like it a lot, but the problem is that it doesn't need a regular mini USB cable! It's like it has a dedicated mini USB-B port. I used it twice and now I can't charge it because I can't find the original plug and it's too late to return it. Didn't realize it had to be the special mini USB it came with. That's why I only have to give it a 1☆
