I really like this brush. It's very pretty and I really like holding it in my hand. The quality of the wood is very good, the surface is smooth. I know there is a lot of controversy as to whether or not this is real boar hair, but that's how it seems to me. When I wash it, it smells like a wet animal (make sure you don't wet brush it!). I think that's proof enough for me that there's at least a decent amount of animal fur in there. The only issue I have with this brush is that it sometimes struggles to get very deep into my hair. I have very thick long hair (yes, I'm one of those awful "manbuns"). Because of this, my hair needs to be combed in small sections, so it can take a while to comb my head well. But in general it is very nice if you have enough patience. When my girlfriend saw this she had to try it because she thought it looked so pretty. She really liked it and she was a bit jealous so I bought her another one. I definitely recommend it.
