I tried them on the first day I received them and they worked great on the ice. On the second day I went out in the snow and fell on my back. My thought was that the way I walked on the snow (forgot the ice underneath) was more pronounced and the spikes caught in the ice, but my boot kept moving forward and slipped off the heel. I put the straps back on and tightened them, thinking they were too loose, but later removed both. I think they're great, as does the company, and I intend to only use them on ice again as I've been looking for heeled boots only. I ordered the Maxx for my wife and she loves them as they are fully fogged up and don't come loose. I've also ordered a STABIlicer Maxx but haven't received it yet but I'm sure they work great and will use both but not the heel in the snow. This is just my experience what to expect. FYI to make this review clearer, Heel has a stretchy strap and Maxx has a non-stretchy velcro.
