Don't worry - connections come and go
When I first hooked this up I thought it would be a great solution for connecting a cable box and Roku to an old TV that only had an HDMI port. After using it for the next few weeks, I found that it randomly stopped working. Sometimes it works when I turn on the TV and connected devices, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it breaks off while watching. Do not worry.
