Overview: Great Quality - Great Customer Service. Made in Korea, not China. lower than some other purifiers, again NOT designed for large spaces. Made for small spaces. I am very impressed with the quality of this BioGS 2.0 air purifier. Internet research showed me that giant South Korean air purification company Coway makes BioGS 2.0 and engineers at Rabbit Air Filter develop it. That's a big plus for my book. I try to avoid air purifiers made in China due to quality issues. Anyone who remembers the 2007 pet food recall and animal deaths around the world due to Chinese melamine contamination knows what I'm talking about. BioGS 2.0 is ideal for small to medium-sized rooms. It's not designed for large rooms or "open spaces" in large homes. If you're expecting this air purifier to perform reasonably well in a large room, you'll be disappointed. Instead, I would consider an air purifier from Oransi, Alen's Breathesmart, or a Blueair Classic 400, 500, or 600 series air purifier. The moment you open the box, you know the BioGS 2.0 is a quality product. The packaging protects the contents very well. The quick start guide and user manual are easy to understand as they are filled with pictures and in clear English. At this point, it should be noted that Rabbit Air is recognized as one of the best customer service centers in the air purifier industry. That speaks volumes. You pay for this service in the Los Angeles area, staffed by English-speaking Americans. Check out Revain customer reviews of some other air purifier brands and you'll read angry remarks from frustrated customers who can't get any help. BioGS 2.0 is a very quiet air purifier thanks to its BLDC (Brushless DC Motor). Even at level 4 or 5, it's quieter than many other brands. This is a fully automatic air purifier. On the top is a touch-sensitive LED panel and a remote control. Read the user manual and you will quickly become familiar with BioGS 2.0. Folks, there are many electronic controls and displays (air quality gauge, fan speed, auto mode, timer, and negative ion on/off button) but they are very easy to learn and master. There's a four-stage filtration system: a permanent pre-filter that's easy to clean with a low-powered vacuum (and washable, too), a carbon filter (obviously about a pound of carbon), a true HEPA filter that contains germicidal chemicals, in order to slow down the growth of viruses and bacteria on the filter, and a negative ionizer that can be turned off. If, like me, you use an air purifier 24/7, Rabbit Air states that the BioGS HEPA and carbon filter should be replaced every 18 months. If you smoke, have pets, or have another source of odor, you will likely need to replace the charcoal filter sooner. Rabbit air filters can be purchased from Revain or directly from the company's website. This is extremely important. If you've ever bought a much cheaper air purifier and found that they no longer make replacement filters, you know how frustrating it is. I ended up considering buying other air purifiers before settling on Rabbit Air. I really wanted an air purifier with a pre-filter that could be cleaned regularly with a vacuum cleaner. The pre-filter PROTECTS critical HEPA filters and activated carbon filters. Thewirecutter.com tested the Blueair Classic 503 and it was clogged with a significant amount of dust (due to the lack of a pre-filter). Keep in mind that thewirecutter.com didn't pick the Rabbit Air as their favorite, but I think the BioGS 2.0 is a very good choice for small to medium sized spaces. Rabbit Air Minus A2 air purifiers are the best option for large spaces. The Coway Airmega line of air purifiers is excellent and reminds me of Rabbit Air (especially since Coway makes Rabbit Air devices). Rabbit Air MinusA2 air purifiers are the best choice for large spaces. The Alen Breathesmart seems like a top-notch contender, but research tells me it's made in China and can get pretty noisy. The Alen Breathesmart fits into a larger space because it can create more space faster than the BioGS 2.0. The US-based Austin Air HealthMate seems to be the top contender if you turn this device on and leave it on. (There's a button to increase the fan speed, that's all.) I'd almost call it "the little air purifier that can." It comes with 15 pounds of activated carbon and was used by the Red Cross and FEMA after 9/11 and during the Porter Ranch gas leak that released methane into the air in Southern California. But read the reviews and you'll notice the comments from owners who are facing costly repair bills after their devices stop working properly. Many companies have stopped customer service due to rising costs. Those who expect too much from BioGS 2.0 will be disappointed. Note that this machine is designed for small spaces like bedrooms. If you have open spaces, a large room or heavy cigarette smoke, check out IQ Air's Health Pro (it's probably the Lexus of air purifiers, but it's much more expensive than the BioGS 2.0), Rabbit Air Minus A2, Airmega , model Austin Air Healthmate, Oransi or classic Blueair air purifier. Much luck.
