Review on SCITOO Actuators Replacement 1992 2005 Mountaineer by Steve Yatnalkar

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Cheap and must be done.

I bought a pair of these (both front doors) for a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT. The kit is said to include the appropriate suspension wire, but the absence is appropriate for this car. I had to bend, cut and sand to fit this on my car. The device is thinner but does not include a replaceable rivet bolt and hanger mounting ring. It was difficult to get the turns just right to stay tight in the sliding part. I ended up adding a small clip to the passenger side as it kept popping out. So bottom line, they work, but no, I would never buy one again. Longevity is yet to be seen. The car is old with 191,000 miles but the 5.0 V8 can last so we'll see which breaks first (the original lasted 21 years). Good luck, look elsewhere, not SCITOO 746-158. I gave it more than the minimum stars as they are running now. I will update if there are any changes.
