Excellent product, best in the backpack accessories category

I was a bit worried when I bought this. I have never heard of this brand and often cheaper products are not of as good quality. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived in the mail. It's thin and light. The brim is covered with an elastic band, similar to a shower cap or hairnet, but appears to be well stitched. I don't expect it to break easily. I have a Fairview 55 Women's Osprey, a 40L pack with a detachable 15L pack for a total of 55L with a zip. I bought the XL sleeve to have enough room for the full size backpack, as well as a way to attach a compression sack with a sleeping bag and liner on the outside, for having a dry backpack, but a store-bought wet sleeping bag defeats the purpose . raincoat complete. To test this (haven't actually used it yet) I filled the pack and attached a compression sack to the straps on the bottom. XL perfectly covers backpack and compression bag. I also tested the permeability with a sink and am happy to report that no moisture got into the lid. I even left a puddle of water on the lid for a few minutes and not a single drop of water spilled out. I'm sure it will keep my stuff dry even in the rain. I read a few reviews that said there are no straps to thread the case through. However, the XL came with two, one horizontal and one vertical. They were adjustable so they could be tightened if my pack wasn't full or I didn't have a compression sack attached. When folded it is very small and doesn't take up much space in my backpack. It's used. I imagine it could be compressed even more if needed as the carrying case it comes in does its best to keep the air out or compress it altogether. Nevertheless, the XL tote bag is about the size of two pairs of hiking socks and can be compressed to about half. I am very happy with this purchase and I highly recommend it. I am planning to buy a smaller one for a detachable daypack.
