We have a normal Australian Doodle puppy who is almost grown and pulls on the leash like a mule. She weighs 50 pounds and is still growing and pulling like an 85-100 pound dog. I think it's the combination of the Standard Poodle's size and strength that makes them so strong, and the Aussie Shepherd's willingness to work is what makes them so appealing. I am above average strong, had two rottweilers, a black labrador etc. I can honestly say that holding our Australian Astrakhan hand and leash is quite difficult. My wife is petite at 5ft 2125cm and has a very difficult time. This collar helps a lot, I would say 85-90% improvement. She just doesn't get any leverage with a notched collar. Combined with a 12 inch leash with handle I think we finally have a combination that works.
