. I usually put some soap on a brush or pad, then run the brush over the silicone pad to remove makeup from it, and sometimes run the brush over my palm until I can't see anything anymore. Make up, wash off and you're done with this brush. It's easy to apply too much soap with this method, and I end up really needing to rinse and make sure all the soap is washed off. I was looking for something that would give me the same cleaning as the silicone pad I'm using, but let me have some soap and water so I'm hoping there's less risk of using too much soap. I saw it and it looks like it's exactly what I had in mind, so I got it! I'm so glad I did! That's exactly what I mean! It's basically a little pink plastic cup. It has an insert with various brush cleaning protrusions. It has some bigger ones and then some small short ones in the middle. This insert can be removed for cleaning, which is nice. But it keeps well in the cup. It will not fall out or move when touching the cup. I have a brush cleaning insert in the cup. I add a drop of baby shampoo and some water (enough to make a little lather). I take the brush I want to clean, rinse it out, then put it in the bowl and swirl it around the ridges to remove the makeup. After that, I just rinse it off and let it dry. That helps me alot! Now I never use too much shampoo! It's so simple and yet so perfect. Another insert included. Turned to the side, this is a mug lid. Twisting the lid the other way turns it into a sort of plate that sits on top of the mug, providing space for your brushes to dry. This is no use to me as my brushes NEVER stand with the hair out to dry as water can drip onto the tip and come loose causing the brush to fall apart. You should always dry your brushes with the part of your hair DOWN. This might work if for some reason you want to use it as a drybrush holder as you use them to have room for them or something. If you don't mind the risk of water dripping onto the tip and the tip detaching and falling apart, you can also use it as a drying rack. I love this little set! Now, could I take the cleaning pad I used, find a mug that it fits in, and just make it myself? Yes. But for me, at $3.99 (at the time of this review), the mug and cleaning pad are worth it. I spent $1 on a cleaning pad I've used before and it wasn't as thick and durable as the one in this kit. I'll need a new one soon anyway. I would spend another 1 or 2 bucks for a cup and I would need to find one that fits my cleaning pad snugly where it comes out for me to clean but it wouldn't dangle or move while in the cup, when i used it. . So worth it to me to be able to put them together and work great together! I definitely recommend it!
