I used this blanket in the White Mountains of Arizona in October and it was perfect. It was very cold and one day it rained (not heavy rain, but continuous rain) and that kept my horse dry and warm. The high neck also kept his shoulders dry. I have also seen my horse rub the aspen several times and the blanket has not torn or even left any traces of rubbing. The only thing I noticed was that it shifted sideways slightly at night, friction, and it wasn't to the point that it was a safety issue. I love the comforter and would buy another one in a heartbeat.
