I purchased the chrome and brass versions of this grip set to replace the standard Moen retractable acrylic grips 96797. The finish is clean and appealing. (See image of Kit 100657 for a better view of the handle; this is the same lever with a different posi-temp cartridge adapter.) direction or in a different direction before the handle slides properly. I also put silicone grease on the plastic adapter to make it easier to rotate relative to other parts. Be sure to thread the adapter firmly onto the stem to ensure the final assembly is secure (but do not overtighten). I can confirm some points made in other reviews. First, this 100224 kit is designed to work with standard Moen 1200 and 1225 cartridges, not Posi-Temp. Second, the handle is metal and the adapter and brake are plastic. Third, the lever handle protrudes further from the end of the cartridge than the acrylic handle, and the lever handle doesn't cover the 10066 stop tube as much. Depending on how much of the tube is exposed, this may or may not be noticeable. In any case, this consideration is purely aesthetic and does not affect functionality. Overall these pens offer good value for money and are a nice upgrade to the original Moen acrylic pens. The lever design makes it easy to make small adjustments and find the perfect water temperature setting.
