I chose this chair because I liked the color and the simple design - it didn't look too "office chair" - I didn't want a huge clunky office chair - but it looked like it had enough grip and the price was right. The color is exactly like the pictures (very warm and beautiful) and it wasn't that difficult to put together. Let's put it this way - if you're good at assembling things with less than stellar instructions, you'll be fine. If you really need the perfect guide, have someone build it. It looks like leather, and while it doesn't feel like it, it still feels comfortable. I'm 5'4" and it supports my back very well - it comes up to my shoulder blades when I'm sitting upright. The height is easily adjustable and you can lock the wheels so it doesn't roll as much. a big difference with a dining chair - and it goes well with my decor I highly recommend.
