I ordered these to hold the hinged back panel and to be able to place the reflector on the stand. The brackets are super strong. I also figured I could double dip, remove the clip and use as an umbrella stand. They are the same as other umbrella stands but be aware that once the clip is pulled out they no longer have the hardware to hold your lights. I bought these adapters to connect my flashes and use my umbrellas with and they work great: Sunmns 1/4" and 3/8" Threaded Converter Adapter Set for Camera/Tripod/Monopod/Ball Head/ Light Stand/Shoulder Stand 21pcs Please note the brackets already have a place to insert an umbrella but there are not enough screws at the top to mount the flash.
