I use glass nail files and was surprised to see glass nail buffers available - as they can last a long time IF they don't break. They seem to be durable. The cover protects them and polishes them to a high shine. I ran out of a file completely and it wasn't as brilliant as a similar effort with other forms of natural buffers. I keep my nails short - I had to "use up" both files to get the polish I wanted. If my nails were longer I would have to rinse off the files and wait for them to dry to finish the job. Warning: If you have natural indentations in your nail, these areas will not be buffed out. I used a suede bumper or a foam bumper that allowed for "hugging" the nail. It won't happen with that.
