Review on πŸ› οΈ Aluminum Clamping Roller Honing Guide by Chris Burns

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Nice design, poor execution.

OK made in China. The threads of the bolts were loaded with metal filings, including the spirals, causing the assembly to bind when adjusted. Assembled off center. Ball bearing wheels are too big for the wave they ride, so they rock back and forth, causing stability issues. The bit holding position must be fully tightened to hold the tool stable because a holding surface is curved. Bad design this time. He gave up before trying to grab hold of the planer blade.

Pros
  • Move the guide up/down on the blade to increase/decrease the angle; Ball bearing roller wheel easy to use
Cons
  • Expensive
