Great for film photography

If you're new to film photography you've probably heard or remembered names like Kodak, Canon, Polaroid and so on. But who is Ilford? And what does their Ilford HP5 Plus film look like? Ilford is no stranger to the film world. It's been around since 1879 - almost when photography was born! They are based in England. They even used to make cameras. You have multiple lines of film in 35mm and 120mm formats. Of course I use the 120 format for my Holga camera. I like the black and white Ilford HP5 Plus for its price and good quality. This competes with Kodak's Tri-X 400 film. The 120 format film for entry-level film photography is 60mm high. It is NOT the same as 35mm film :). it's higher It's not for a 35mm camera - it's for 120 format cameras. A 120 format roll of film typically holds 12-16 frames per roll of film, depending on whether you're shooting square or tall. This film itself is labeled ILFORD HP5 PLUS and 4205 below. I took a rough picture of the reel on my monitor to show this. Not sure what 4205 means - I texted them to ask! It also has exposure markings along the top, but again this depends on whether you want to use it to capture square or large rectangular images. I chose the overlaps based on how I wrapped the film. I've used film in a number of situations and have always liked it. For example, here's a picture I took while going to Cozumel on the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas cruise ship. This is the far right image in the image above the stock film. We were moored alongside another ship. I love how the small ceilings frame the balconies left and right and how they all have the same tables and chairs but in different configurations. Then the white color of the ship adds another frame underneath. Again, for clarification, the duplication came from me. I decided to superimpose my images. I love the gentle softness I get with the Ilford HP-5 Plus. It's just the right amount of contrast. My Holga always lends an evocative feel to images, and Ilford fits in well with that. Recommended.
