If you're trying to find "old fashioned" hair rollers like the old days, this is the closest I've found have. Every other curler I've tried (and I've tried a lot) has fallen out of my hair without holding it in place. These are made out of harder plastic than the old ones but they hold the hair nice and tight. It was difficult at first to separate the outer body of the rollers from the inner ones because they were very tight, but I noticed that they come loose making the rollers easier to use. I would classify these rollers as medium, measuring about 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inches in diameter. I still like the old ones better (there are a few left and treat them like gold), but these have stood the test of time. I would buy them again.
