Review on 💿 PlexDisc 6x Blu-ray BD-R DL, 50GB White Inkjet Recordable Discs - 25 Disc Spindle by Loren Jacobson

***UPDATE*** December 10th, 2014 = ====================== As you can see from my previous reviews of this product, I was very pleased with this disc, in part because of having it appears to have been manufactured by Verbatim factories. NO LONGER! The last batch I received on December 10th 2014 is now from Ritec which are NOT generally considered as good as Verbatim discs. The only good news is that these discs are actually encoded to write at 6x accuracy, while previous Verbatim discs only had a maximum write speed of 4x (as evidenced by the metadata written to the blanks). It would be nice if PlexDisc lowered the price as I believe that for Ritec discs they pay less for Verbatim discs. *** DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH RITEK BR-D-DL DISCS? ============================================== = === ========I love these CDs! I've reviewed 50 so far and bought them in packs of 10 so far to make sure they're reliable (many other blank BD-R products I've bought over the last 3 years have given poor or disappointing results. But that's it 50 I've burned so far I only had one coaster and that was my fault But the price for 10 packs has gone up a bit in the last 2 months (from $23.95 to $28.95) here at AMAZON.. so have I decided it was time to buy in bulk.As I noted in my previous reviews of the 10 pack discs, the ImgBurn disc burning software reports that they (at least the 10 pack discs) only 2x and 4x times do not support 6x advertised and as stated on the drives themselves I have not opened this box yet but I expect they will report the same speeds however as these are in fact Verbatim drives, is this is very reassuring when used to write archived data mentioned in my other reviews of this product, they make incredible burns (minimal coasters), they appear to be made by Verbatim and this is an INCREDIBLE BARGAIN. As I mentioned above, I made my first purchase of a 25 pack here on AMAZON on September 18th. Up until this point I've bought packs of 10 to evaluate their quality before buying large quantities that could be junk. . And vice versa! These are probably the BEST BluRay discs I have ever bought. When the price of a 10-pack started going up, I switched to a 25-pack. On September 18, they cost $49.95. I was about to buy a few more 25 packs and now - ONLY 2 WEEKS LATER - the price has gone up to $69.95 and as per Murphy's Law the moment I tried to place my order I received a response saying which says The item is no longer available and AMAZON HAS NO IDEA if it will ever be available again. It seems that BuyDotCom still sells it for $69.99, but I can't find it anywhere near that price in many other places. Price. I checked the PlexDisc website for authorized retailers and what other package sizes discs are available in. They show a pack of 50, but web searches with that SKU returned NO RESULTS (except for the page on the PlexDisc website). I hope we don't run out of our mutual luck in finding the source (as we all hope) of Verbatim BDR-DL 6x discs at such an incredible price. Maybe PlexDisc realizes they're right to raise the price now (after months of going to market at unprofitable prices), or maybe Verbatim doesn't like the market after learning we're selling their products under another private label for less than half the price of what Verbatim charges itself. Whatever the reason, I hope we don't lose this valuable channel for such a good product at such a great price. Buy them now while you still can, even if it's a set of 10. mindflyer
