This power supply (EVGA's 850W Plat) was fantastic for me. I bought it in December '18 and have since made a major upgrade to my system. This power supply is very quiet. It has an Eco mode, in which you can switch off the fan completely below a certain power consumption, which I found suspicious and didn't use it for a long time. In fact, it makes no sense if the PSU is quieter than the system fans. Fully modular cables simplify installation. Just be mindful of which end you connect to the power supply, as each end of the modular cables connects to the power supply, but the plastic retaining clip will not fit into the opening of the power supply case if you reverse it. weaker PSUs in the past that made loud magnetostrictive noise (hum) when the graphics card was heavily loaded. Also, bad power supply can lead your system to BSOD, bad OC, etc. With the release of the current graphics generation (Big Navi and the much more power-hungry Nvidia 3000 series), a good power supply is more important than ever. I still have the EVGA1070 FTW2 on my system but will be updating it soon depending on how Big Navi shakes it out (this review was written on 10/27/20).
